From Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling:
TRUVY. What are your colors, Shelby?
SHELBY. Blush and bashful.
M'LYNN. I ask you. How precious is this wedding going to get?
SHELBY. My colors are blush and bashful. I have chosen two shades of pink. One is much deeper than the other.
Whether your signature color is pink, peach or otherwise ... Brush & Bashful is here to help you show your strength & beauty as the woman you are. We are all Steel Magnolias -- women with character & charm. We are all in Truvy's beauty shop, pouring our hearts and souls out to our sisters at arms while trying to look glamourous while doin' it. Life has so many twists and turns but we rely on the women around us to help us keep it all together as we move on with laughter through tears -- it's our favorite emotion. And this is how Brush & Bashful was born.

A Message from Nicole: When I moved to Wisconsin in my senior year of high school, I was given the amazing opportunity to play Annelle in the school production of Steel Magnolias. I was only 18 but had already loved the movie and the play spoke to me on so many levels. I thought I was going to be a journalist ... and, yet, here was this play about a tight-knit group of women in a beauty shop that spoke to my soul.
Fast forward through the years, and I'm a little bit Truvy ... a little bit M'Lynn ... a little bit Annelle -- a little bit of all the woman from that play. I opened a successful beauty shop and, though I didn't become a chain, I returned to the basics and the root of my life to open Brush & Bashful after my health took a turn and I learn to deal with the death of my mother-in-law from cancer. I got to direct another production of Steel Magnolias with the help of dear friends in the Wausau community and the story and characters continue to fill my life.
I believe we are all Steel Magnolias. I believe we are all incredible women dealing with what life throws at us and doing what we can to survive & thrive.
